Exercise

Anyone will benefit through practicing proper exercise. Seasoned citizens can slow the "aging process" through increasing bone density and muscle mass. Typically, people practice a little stretching and some cadio exercise as their routine. Good. Many also reduce their carbohydrate intake and try to follow some dietary guideline. Better.  I suggest eating a combination of real food that includes proteins, good carbohydrates, vegetables, and good fats (these are discussed at length elsewhere within this blog) combined with some cardio exercise and stretching capped by resistance based exercise. Best.

Progressive Resistance Exercises cause the cardiovascular system to increase capacity through larger, stronger veins and arteries plus additional capillaries to feed the added muscle fibers. This will lower blood pressure and increase overall vigor. The added muscle fiber aids all activities of daily living and helps improve balance. Numerous studies (not specified here right now) have proven that, even for the most seasoned citizens, a correctly designed progressive resistance exercise program will also increase bone density. All the tissue, including bones, in our bodies are constantly growing, replacing, and dying. Exercise causes the tissues of our muscles and bones to produce more and stronger replacement tissue.

The Heartiness Approach Blog will contain daily entries demonstrating and leading an exercise program.
